Robert T. Vaughn, 86 of Fairfield passed away at 3:24 PM, Friday, April 29,, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN. Born on July 3, 1935, in Wayne County to Ebert and Marie (Hunley) Vaughn, he was retired from the US Air Force where he was an aircraft maintenance technician, and later was a machinist, owning Vaughn and Son Machine Shop for many years.
Robert is survived by his wife Rosina Vaughn of Fairfield, sons David (Sherry) Vaughn of Barnhill, Robert (Joyce) Vaughn of Fairfield, and Jeff Vaughn of Fairfield, daughter Heidi (Harold) Schmitt of Sohren, Germany, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brothers Eldo Vaughn of Fairfield and Melvin (Barbara) Vaughn of Fairfield, and sisters Betty Stephens of Fairfield and Phyllis (Chuck) Neff of Wayne City. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Christoph Schmitt, and sister Delores Wiles.
Funeral services for Robert Vaughn will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 6th at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home, with visitation from 12 PM until the time of service. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery with military rites provided by Anthony Wayne Post #176 American Legion and the Wayne County Post #4535 VFW
