James Leslie “Jim” Shatzsall, 84, of Norris City, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Ferrell Hospital, in Eldorado, Illinois. He was born on January 30, 1938, the son of John James and Edna (Blades) Shatzsall. Jim married Wanda Lou Oliver. He taught high school in McLeansboro for a time and then went on to work as a Petroleum Engineer for Texaco.and Reading and Bates. Jim was a member of Village Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City. He enjoyed woodworking and was an avid quail and duck hunter. Jim is survived by his wife, Wanda Shatzsall; children, Jay (Donna Ann) Shatzsall of Norris City, IL, and Janice Renee (Barry) Stillwell of Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren, Kristofor Storts and Lauren Elizabeth Shatzsall; great-grandchild, Dylan Storts; a sister-in-law, Martha (Earl) Christie of Eldorado, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service for Jim Shatzsall will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Village Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Norris City. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until time of service on Thursday, December 1. 2022. at Village Cumberland Prebyterian Church in Norris City.
