Richard Ray “Dick” Williams – Wayne City

Richard Ray “Dick” Williams, 83, of Wayne City, IL passed away on Monday, December 26, 2022 at Aperion Care in Fairfield, IL.

He was born on September 4, 1939 in Winchester, IL the son of Ray Edward Williams and Helen (Ruenzi) Williams.  Dick had worked at Airtex in Fairfield, IL before retiring from that position and had previously worked for Allis-Chalmers in Springfield, IL.  He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and was an active member of the Orel Lodge #759 A.F. & A.M. in Wayne City.  He was also a member of the Shriners.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and especially enjoyed gardening.  He enjoyed helping people in need in any way that he could.  He loved spending time with friends and family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dick is survived by a son Josh (Kalen) Williams of Fairfield, IL; 5 grandchildren: Libby Williams, Taylor Dulaney, Kirstyn (Thad) Milam, Paige (Kyle) Buss, and Peyton Simpson, 4 great-grandchildren: Skyler, Stella, Sawyer, and Kohen, 2 sisters: Peggy Schultz and Linda Mahoney, and special nieces & nephews Rick (Julie) Long, Mike Long, Mary Sullivan, and Kris (Jake) Hohimer.

He was preceded in death by both parents Ray & Helen Williams, a son Jason Williams, a daughter Cindy Stice, and 2 brothers: Butch Williams and David Williams.

A public visitation for Richard Ray “Dick” Williams will be held from 5 pm until 7 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Young Funeral Home in Wayne City, IL.  A Masonic rites ceremony will be held at 7 pm, followed by dismissal.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and will be accepted at Young Funeral Home.
