27 year old Caleb Walters of Simms, was arrested by Wayne County Sheriffs on a charge of Battery. He is being held pending the posting of $120 bond.

38 year old Tyla Wishard of Simms, was arrested on a Failure to Appear Warrant on a charge of Driving While License Suspended or Revoked. Bond has been set at $250, a court date has been set for 1/26/23.

40 year old Jason Pfaff of Fairfield, was arrested on an Indiana Arrest Warrant for charges of Criminal Damaghe to Property and Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer. First Appearance has been set for 1/6/2023. Bond is $120.

38-year-old Lavar Fields recently entered a Plea of Guilty in Wayne County court on a charge of Domestic Battery, a Class A Misdemeanor. Fields was sentenced to serve 243 days in jail, and ordered to pay $689 in fines and costs. Per the plea agreement additional charges were dismissed.

46-year-old Jack Myers pleaded guilty in Wayne County court to charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Possession of Firearm without a FOID card. Per the plea agreement additional charges have been dismissed. Myers was sentenced to two years’ probation, given 30 hrs of Community Service, and ordered to pay $4,505 in fines.

The Vice President is stopping in Chicago today. The White House says she will be in town to discuss how President Biden’s economic plan is rebuilding the country’s infrastructure, creating good-paying jobs, and revitalizing communities left behind. The vice president last visited the city in November to campaign for Illinois Democrats ahead of the midterm elections.

During a news conference Tuesday, the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis announced they’ve found the men they believe are responsible for Miguel Villegas De-Santiago’s death.

Authorities arrested Albert Campos, 18, and Matias Herrera, 26, in connection with the shooting. De-Santiago was shot and killed on Sunday, Jan. 1, in the 3300 block of Princeton Avenue. He was waiting in his car to meet with his girlfriend.

A Metro East man faces several felonies after a violent exchange with officers Monday following a domestic dispute. 35 year old Patrick Kernan of Highland, is behind bars in Madison County, Illinois, on a $50,000 bond. Prior to his arrest, police questioned Kernan over a call for a domestic disturbance. The Highland Police Department says Kernan became “combative” with officers who tried to collect information. Kernan is accused of beating up on multiple officers while they tried to detain him. At least two officers suffered minor injuries in the altercation.

Gas prices are creeping back up in Illinois. Triple AAA says the current average price for a gallon of gas is around three-dollars-and-30-cents. That is around eight cents more than last week.
