Robert “Bob” Eugene Keortge, 72, of West Salem, IL, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023.
He was born May 25, 1950, to Robert K. and Wilma Jean (Hinderliter) Keortge, in Olney, IL. He married the love of his life, Patricia Hutchinson, on July 16, 1971.
Bob was a hardworking farmer and worked for the village of West Salem as Water Plant Superintendent for 47 years before his retirement. In his retirement he worked as a custodian for the West Salem Grade School.
Bob loved his family more than anything: he was a treasured husband, dad, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His favorite pastimes was going to the beach with his family and traveling to the mountains of Tennesse. In his free time Bob loved to sit by his wood stove and read a good book or watch Nascar. He was a great man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert K. and Wilma Jean Keortge.
Bob is survived by is loving wife of 51 years, Patricia Keortge; children, Tony (Kathy) Keortge, Stacy (Bryan) Wheeler, Jennifer (Steve) Tibbs, Christina Keortge; brother, David Keortge; 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; fur babies, Bushia, Sarge.
Memorial Visitation: Friday, January 13, 2023, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, at Ingram-Meridith Funeral Home, West Salem, IL. The family has requested those attending to dress casual.
