Fairfield Fire Called Out to Multiple Fires Sunday into Monday

The Fairfield Fire Department was called out to a pair of fires Sunday into Monday.

The first fire took place just after Midnight Sunday at a residence located at 908 West Mount Vernon Road. The person who called in the fire reported smoke coming from the chimney area of the home. When fire crews arrived, the were able to contain the fire to the chimney and attic area. No injuries were reported and fire crews were on scene for about 2 hours.

The second weekend fire call came at 2 AM this morning to a vacant residence at 405 West Elm Street with a sale pending sign in the yard. The fire was in the unattached garage at the home. No injuries were reported. Fire crews were on scene for 90 minutes.
