Mike Bost Stops in Fairfield

Mike Bost was in Fairfield on Thursday Morning to meet with some of his constituents. Several citizens as well as chamber officials and media were on hand. Bost’s main mission was to introduce himself to the community and listen to their concerns at the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.

Bost has spent 20 years in state politics before moving into the US House, where he represents 34 counties in the state, including Wayne County. He grew up working in the truck hauling business, worked there for 10 years before leaving it to his brother. Prior to the trucking business, Bost was a Marine Corp member. Bost, when not in Washington resides with his family in Murphysboro with his family.

Bost mentioned that some of the items he is working include the Farm Bill and the boarder. He currently serves on the transportation committee and is chair of the VA Committee.

Concerned citizens brought questions involving the Farm Bill and SNAP or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, gun rights, and cannabis.

Bost’s district offices are in Murphysboro, Mascoutah, and Effingham.
