Gladene Siegel, 78, of Carmi, Illinois, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at her home. She was born December 31, 1944, in Grayville, Illinois, the daughter of Royal N. and Viola (VanSchoyck) Williams. She was married to Leonard G. Siegel and he preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.
For many years, Gladene was the “face” of the Carmi Dairy Queen, where she work for over 30 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Good News Chapel Church in Crossville, Illinois. Each spring and summer she enjoyed hummingbirds and tending to her flowers. In her later years, she enjoyed Facebook and her pet cat.
Survivors include son Roger (Ang) Siegel of Carmi; sister Reba Jo (John) Guinn of Crossville; step-son Charlie Siegel, grandchildren Christopher Siegel, Evan Siegel. Mason (Dayna) Siegel, Karissa Siegel and her fiancé Domenic Francone, Adam (Janette) Archer, Dakota (Lacie) Hosick, Kaitlin Shelton, Aleeyah Pollard; and great grandson Waylon Siegel.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Tawnselle Archer; brothers Paul, Donald, Vernon, Gale and Jerry Williams; sisters Wilma Ann Williams, Betty Mae Sanders, and Laveta Marse.
Visitation and funeral are Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is at 10 am and funeral is at 12 noon. Cremation will follow the funeral service.
