1 Liquor License Approved, 1 Liquor License Denied At Grayville City Council Meeting

City Council Members in Grayville during their meeting Monday approved one liquor license plus a gaming license and a TIF agreement for infrastructure investment of up to $20,700. The city approved Horizon Hospitality LLC ‘s request for a Class E Liquor License, Video Gaming License, and TIF Agreement. Commissioner Jordan did vote NO on the video gaming license. The gaming license now awaits state approval.
City officials say that the TIF funds will go towards repairs to the parking area and signage at what is known as the former Quality Inn property on Illinois Highway 1 at Interstate 64.
Meanwhile, the council did not take up a vote on an application from Grayville Liquor Lake Inc. for a Class C license and gaming application. City officials addressed their concern as accepting a new license for a package store would hurt those already open and that the previously approved license was because the license was transferred with the property.
