High Price Tags Requiring Changes on A Couple of Fairfield Projects

A few of the items being worked on in the City of Fairfield are being either changed or briefly paused while one project is in the beginning process.

A bid opening was held on March 10 for the Main & Delaware street projects. One bid was submitted with a bid of 7 million dollars. The state did not approve the bid and will review it before final approval. The mayor said he expects the bid to be approved after discussing the matter with state officials and the engineers.

Meanwhile, Mayor Moore stated that a plan to have the new water tower painted red & black has been scrapped due to the $100k cost. The tower will be painted white with Fairfield lettering.

The state has contacted engineers to seek bids for engineering work on the Lakeside Lake project. This is the first step in the process of restoring the lake.
