Enhanced Severe Weather Risk Today

The National Weather Service at Paducah during a conference says that the chance of Severe Weather may increase throughout the day today. Currently, National Weather Service officials have our area of an enhanced risk of severe weather. Weather service officials believe that convection along with a lower level jet stream are the culprits for the opportunities for the severe weather. Tornadoes, Wind, and Flooding may be the big threats with this outbreak.

As of the posting of this article, Wayne, White, Wabash, Edwards, Jefferson, Saline, Gallatin, Hamilton and Frankin Counties are under a tornado watch until 4 PM. Marion, Clay, Richland, Jasper, and Lawrence Counties are under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 AM.

Keep tuned to WFIW and WOKZ for the latest in severe weather information. Meanwhile, a wind advisory is in place from 4 AM until 4 PM today. Winds outside of Thunderstorms may exceed 40 mounts per hour.
