Recreation Fund expenditures for the remainder of the year were approved. They include:
$1500 for the Easter Egg Hunt
$1500 for 4th of July Fireworks
$1,000 for Halloween Celebration
$2,000 to expand the electrical service at the city parking lot east of the Post Office
$2,000 for new planters, banners, & decor for the downtown area
$4,000 for the Christmas celebration. The ice skating will not be returning this year.
The Recreation Fund is funded by the Hotel and Motel Tax and can only be used for these types of projects. The council unanimously approved the expenditure.
