The City of Fairfield is set to host their first council meeting for the month of May this evening. That meeting is set to get under way at 6 PM at Fairfield City Hall. Prior to the meeting, there is a public hearing at 5:50 PM in regards to rezoning of a property at 1005 West Court Street.
During the first portion of the council meeting, the council will look to take action on the re-zoning measure of 1005 West Court Street. The zoning would move from R-2 to B-3 zoning.
Following that, the board will adjourn so they can seat the new board, administer the oath of office, set meeting dates and times, appoint an IMRP authorized agent, approve a resolution for inter fund loan transfers, and look to take up a resolution re certifying of the participation in IMRF for elected officials.
In other items on the agenda, the council will look to approve demolition bids on a water tower, work on business with the city band, look at TIF agreements with the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen and Doug Wilson, hear a presentation from Blessed Blooms Flower Farm LLC, recognize police department officers, and announce a local tourism grant award.
The Fairfield City Council Meeting is open to the public.
