Fairfield Public School District 112 held their regularly scheduled May session on Monday Evening in the board room at Center Street School. At that meeting, three new board members were appointed seats to fulfill partial terms until 2025: Jamie Jones, Erica Burris, and Brandon Berghaus
In the superintendent report, under revenue and expenses, the district has received 87% of funds and expended 83% of funds of the FY 23 budget. For food service, the district purchased a new refrigerator for Center Street and a dishwasher. North Side purchased a cold serving station for vegetables and a cash register station so we can move to a system similar to Center Street where students can enter a pin number. In Transportation, a new bus will be delivered in June. The bus has all parts and it is ready for inspection and delivery. Pro-Vision has installed two new cameras in the bus,
Under routine business, in reference to PRESS Policy 111- This was a second reading. Much of this policy is on Faith’s Law requirements. The measure was passed by the board.
Officials passed on first reading changes to the student handbook. Principals reviewed changes and updates to the handbook.
Boiler/Chiller Work is beginning on the boiler/chiller project.The chiller is anticipated to not be in until October. So the schools will run on our chiller until the new one arrives so there is no disruption to heat or air conditioning.
The district is searching for a new auditor and at this time we have had one firm consider taking us on however, we have not received an RFP at this time.
