Fairfield Fire Called Out To Structure Fire Early Sunday

On Sunday at 7:55 AM, the Fairfield Fire Department was alerted to smoke at 510 West Center Street. On arrival, light smoke was visible from a garage at the rear of that address. The owner, Tim Sullivan, was using a fire extinguisher on the fire, and was able to hold the fire in check until the Fairfield Fire Department arrived. Fire personnel were able to get the fire extinguished and overhauled the area of the fire to check for extension. Smoke and fire damage was limited to half of the garage. The fire appears to be accidental in nature. Fire crews were one the scene for just under an hour. No injuries were reported. Fairfield Fire responded with three apparatus and 12 firefighters. The Fairfield FD was assisted by Fairfield PD and Wayne County 911.
