Full Recap of FCHS Board Meeting

The FCHS Board met last night for their regular monthly meeting with personnel issues being the major task.
The board unanimously voted to hire Robert D. Wells II as the new District Superintendent for the 2024-25 school year. Wells was given a 3 year contract and has served the district as Principal.
The board conducted its own search for the Superintendent position and did not use an outside search firm.
In other personnel matters:
Hired Cheryl Bruce as a bus driver.
Accepted the resignation of Caleb Dunn as custodian.
Hired Brent Greene as a custodian.
Hired Donnie Lyons as Technology Coordinator.
Hired Macey Clark as in-house substitute.
Raised the fees for substitute teachers and para-professionals as follows{
   Para-professionals $105.00
   Substitutes $115.00
   Certified substitutes $125.00
The changes bring the FCHS District in line with Fairfield Public District 112.
The board unanimously adopted the tax levy of 4.98% for taxes payable in 2024.
150 Chrome Books were purchased at a cost of $60,850 with grant money paying for a large portion of the cost.
The board entered into a Letter of Engagement with Dartt & Co., LLC to conduct the annual audit of the district at a cost of $11,500.
A special guest at the meeting was FCHS student Grady Simpson, who was recently elected as District Student Council President. Simpson explained the selection process and the future plans of the council. The board members and administration extended their congratulations.
