Initial filings for unemployment claims in Illinois fell last week. The Labor Department reports new jobless claims fell to just under eight-thousand last week — down from more than 93-hundred the previous week. Nationwide, the number of unemployment claims — typically viewed as a reflection of the overall labor market — fell to 201-thousand last week — a drop of 12-thousand from the previous week.
