IDOT and IEMA Issue Warning About Post Eclipse Traffic

(Undated) — Travel is expected to be difficult when the solar eclipse wraps up today. According to the Illinois Department of Transportation, in 2017 travelers spent several hours in near stop-and-go traffic on state highways and interstates leaving the areas of totality. IDOT joins Mike McPeak with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, in saying come prepared.

He says it is also going to be important to be patient during traffic delays. IDOT says they will have as many construction barriers down as possible to open up traffic lanes.
