Gas Prices Continue to Trend Higher

(Undated) – Gas prices nationwide continue to trend higher, driven in large part by the conflict between Iran and Israel. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, says while things appear to have de-escalated, if Israel, which has promised to respond with further attacks, indeed does press on, it could certainly push oil prices higher. However, he says motorists can expect other factors to influence what they’re paying at the pump. Motorists in the mid-Atlantic and Northeast U.S. will soon see a spike in prices as they make the switch to summer gasoline which could drive prices as much as 20 to 50 cents higher per gallon in nearly a dozen states. On the West Coast, price increases should finally slow, but the national average will likely climb again in the coming week. The current national average is $3.66 a gallon.
