(Fairfield) – The Fairfield Police Department is reminding the public to stay alert as roadwork continues. Authorities say roadwork continues in areas of East and West Main Street and drivers are reminded to slow down around workers and be aware that while work is being completed there are exposed manhole covers, cones, and other objects on and near the roadway that can cause damage if not avoided. They say it is important to avoid distractions anytime you are behind the wheel but it is particularly important in these construction zones.
