Fairfield Man Taken Into Custody on Contempt of Court Charge

(Fairfield) – A Fairfield man was taken into custody Wednesday on a contempt of court charge. According to authorities, Wayne County Sheriff, Chris Otey, took forty-three-year-old Eric Vaughan into custody. The charge stems from a missed court appearance involving an order of protection issued in early February. Court records indicate that Vaughan failed to appear on April 17th in a filing to reconsider the order of protection. Vaughan was found to be in direct contempt of court for outbursts made in the courtroom. Vaughan was fined $200 and was sent to the Wayne County Jail and later released.
