Gas Prices Continue to Trend Lower

(Undated) – Gas prices continue to trend lower. According to this morning’s numbers from GasBuddy.com, the national average fell five cents over the weekend to an average of $3.63 a gallon. Here in Illinois, the statewide average is $3.88 a gallon, down three cents from Friday. Across the Wabash in Indiana, the statewide average is $3.42 a gallon, down six cents. GasBuddy Head of Petroleum Analysis, Patrick De Haan, says while the latter half of the summer could potentially see hurricane-related issues, Americans should be optimistic that this summer will be in line with 2024 expectations and likely not feature record gasoline prices. Mississippi drivers are paying the lowest prices with a statewide average of $3.09 a gallon. California drivers are paying the highest prices at $5.31 a gallon.
