(New Hope) — New Hope Waterworks will be flushing hydrants during May. Officials say the process is done each spring and fall to keep the system clean and provide safe pure water for your health and safety. Residents are advised to check their water before using it. While flushing the water lines you may notice the water may be temporarily discolored due to the concentration of iron in the water. If your water is discolored, it does not mean it is unsafe to drink. While flushing the lines residents are urged to check for discoloration in the water before doing laundry or similar activities.
