Illinois State Police Alcohol Enforcement Detail Cite Four Area Businesses

Two establishments in Fairfield and two others in the area have been cited by the Illinois State Police for allegedly selling alcohol to an individual under the age of 21. These citations were issued as part of an Illinois State Police Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement detail. Selling alcohol to a minor is classified as a Class-A misdemeanor.
The establishments cited include Chava’s Cantina & Grill and LaFuente Mexican Restaurant, both located in Fairfield, Lonzo’s Place in Sims, and Midtown Package Liquors and Tobacco in Wayne City. State Police surveyed a total of 65 locations across Wayne, Lawrence, Richland, Clark, and Jasper Counties during the month of April as part of their enforcement efforts.
