Paddy Hale obit photo057Paddy J. Hale, age 82, of Flora, Illinois, a former Rinard resident died Monday, August 8, 2016, at Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Effingham, Illinois. She spent most of her life working with horses and traveling to horse shows. She was active in saddle clubs at Clay City, Fairfield, and Albion. During her late teen years, she did exhibition trick riding and riding with the White Horse Troup in Nebraska. After moving to Wayne County in 1967, Paddy worked at Fairfield Garment Factory and International Shoe Company in Flora.

Survivors include three children: Steve (Judy) Walsh of Flora, Vickie (Rick) Spidle of Mattoon, and Sharon (Steve) Forth of Kilgore, TX; 4 grandchildren: John (Nikki) Walsh of Dover, TN, Sarah (Joel) Hackney of Flora, Stephanie (Kevin) Woods of Newton, and Shannon (James) Magness of Tyler, TX; 6 great-grandchildren and one on the way; 1 brother: John A. Dickey Jr. of Morrison; and 2 sisters: Nancy Woehl of Morrison and Jean Cook of Jesup, IA.

Funeral services for Paddy Hale will be 7 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Frank & Bright Funeral Home, Flora, with visitation from 5-7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and these donations will be accepted at the Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora, which is in charge of all the arrangements.
