Bruce Willard Guthrie Jr. – Grayville

51-year-old Bruce Willard Guthrie, Jr. of Grayville, died Saturday, July 31 the result of a boating accident in the Wabash River near Grayville. He was born April 6, 1970, in Kane, Pennsylvania, the son of Bruce Willard Guthrie, Sr., and June (Dolby) Guthrie. He was married for 27 years to Taunya (Bell) Guthrie, and she survives.

Bruce was a process specialist at Champion Laboratories in Albion. He was an avid fisherman, and he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include is wife, Taunya Guthrie; sons Brett (Jade) Guthrie, Brody Guthrie; daughter Desirae (Phillip) Grimm; brother James (Karla) Guthrie, all of Grayville; sisters Sarah (Nick) Nicklas of Marionville, Pennsylvania, Barb Elder and Debbie Guthrie, both of Olney, Becky Guthrie of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Nevaeh, Rilee, Anastasia, Everleigh (due in September, 2021), Blake, and Cole.

He is preceded in death by his father, Bruce Willard Guthrie, Sr.; sister Amanda; mother-in-law Kathy Hoy; and father-in-law Telvis Bell.

Bruce’s remains were cremated. Services are set at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 7 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville, with visitation from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 7 at Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville.

Cook Funeral Chapel in Grayville is in charge of arrangements.
