Peter Duane Dobrowski, Jr., age 77 of McLeansboro, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023, in St. Louis, MO at Barnes Jewish Hospital. He was born in Bayshore Long Island, NY on October 11, 1945, to Norma Jean (Houghtaling) and husband Peter Duane Dobrowski, Sr.
As a young man, Peter proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He worked in photography development for a while until he began working in airport security in the Homeland Security division. After working in Homeland Security for many years he retired.
Peter is survived by two uncles, George Leighty and wife Rosalee and Randel Houghtaling and wife Ellen, and sixteen cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Duane Dobrowski, Sr. and Norma Jean (Houghtaling) King.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Graveside services will follow at 12:30 p.m. in the Bridgeport City Cemetery (Shiloh).
